The Roof Gardens – Residents Meeting Minutes 25.09.25

Summary: 
 
Noise Management 

  • Ongoing investigation into early morning noise from the loading bay and deliveries, with initial identification pointing to specific vehicles, potentially from H&M and a ‘Waste Truck’ not associated with TRG 
  • One of the four perimeter SIM-enabled noise monitors to be fixed week commencing 29th  September. Delayed due to H&S concerns 
  • Resident complaint about loud conversations in the square (guest complaining about parking and club refusal entry) are being actively addressed. Conversations will be held in Derry St. And away from Kensington Sq 
  • All incidents are logged systematically to track patterns and ensure accountability 
  • Noise mitigation is coordinated with suppliers and delivery companies to minimise disruption and comply with licensing requirements 

Licensing 

  • The special treatments licence was granted by RBKC following a site inspection by the licensing team at RBKC 
  • The licence is currently in an appeal period, which ends on Monday, 29th September 
  • Compliance with licence conditions remains a priority, particularly in preparation for any upcoming events 

Parking and Security 

  • Since May, 123 individuals have been successfully prevented from parking in the square, demonstrating effective traffic control 
  • Since the last meeting, only two instances occurred where vehicles parked, guests reached the club door and were then refused entry until vehicle was re-parked away from Sq 
  • A new combined parking and security app has been implemented and approved by Apple, improving operational oversight 
  • Proactive management continues to ensure smooth access and traffic flow during high-traffic periods, particularly around events 

Smoking and Complaints 

  • Official rooftop staff smoking area established 
  • Two recent staff smoking incidents seen by TRG SIA in Sq. have been addressed 

Upcoming Events and Projects 

  • Recent fundraising charity event where a TENs was applied for and granted (September 17th) and was delivered smoothly, including in the extended hour period 
  • Halloween is the next major event, requiring preparation for managing any possible increased traffic and guest noise 
  • The Japanese restaurant is scheduled to open on 23rd October, with associated operational planning underway 
  • Screening room renovation is progressing as planned, with expected completion in mid-to-late November 
     

Actions 

  • Alex to contact Philip at RBKC to confirm who licensing contact for TRG is 
  • Complete noise monitor SIM installation 
  • Enforce staff smoking policy 
  • Deploy and test parking/security app 
  • Continue to put proactive measures and monitoring in place during high-profile events
